But do you really know what kind of sheet is right for you? Sateen? Percale? We’re here to help you decide!

Cotton sateen bedding

Sateen fabrics' drape incredibly well and tend to have a distinct sheen & luster finish. They are incredibly soft to the touch due to the construction of its one yarn under, three or four yarns over weave. Sateen sheets are known to be easy to care for and require little ironing as they are naturally wrinkle-resistant.

These sheets are also slightly heavier than cotton percale, allowing your duvet cover to trap heat more frequently. Sleepers who tend to get cold during the night would appreciate this extra warmth.

Cotton percale bedding

Percale bedding is characteristically known for its breathability and lightness. Featuring a renowned crisp and matte texture, percale uses a tight one-over-one under weave, allowing for higher thread counts, and can only be woven as low as 200.

These sheets are great at keeping cool, making them an essential for summer nights, those who run hot, and those sharing the bed with warm partners.

Note: Percale & Sateen are styles of weave and not materials themselves. Accordingly, a variety of materials, such as cotton, polyester, rayon, and/or lyocell, may be utilized to make percale or sateen sheets.
